Romans 5:19 tells us, For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” We are not sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners. The word sin in the Greek means to miss the mark. The mark was the glory of God, we were to live in the glory of God. But by one man’s (Adam) disobedience everyone missed the mark.
How many of you know that it was Eve that first did it not Adam? The reason it says by one man, is because woman is a receiver, man has the seed and man implants the seed into the woman and the human race is born. The seed was in Adam. When Adam missed the mark, it literally affected his entire being and the seed that was within him. Therefore the entire human race became sinners and missed the mark by one man’s disobedience. Thank God that verse does not end there look at the rest of it, so also by One Man’s obedience you were made righteous. That One man is Jesus and by His obedience you were made righteous. You are not righteous because of your obedience. You were a sinner because of Adam’s disobedience and Child of God you are the righteousness of God in the earth today because of One Man’s obedience. Jesus paid it all.
I believe in obedience, but it has nothing to do with being right with God. Disobedience gives Satan entrance into your life, that is what it does. It is very, very important that you realize by One Man’s (Jesus) obedience you were made righteous. You are spirit being, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Your spirit man was made righteous the day you accepted Christ. 1/3 of you is perfect. That’s why over in 1John 3:9 tells us it is impossible for us to sin. It’s not that your flesh can’t sin or your soul can’t sin, but it’s your spirit man that can’t sin. Your spirit man was created righteous and sealed by the Holy Ghost. You soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. Your soul has to be renewed. That’s what it is talking about over in Romans 12:2 when it tells us to be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
In the New Testament you find the word repent many times. The word repent comes from 2 Greek words meta and noeo. Metanoeo came together in one word in the Greek and it is translated repent. If you will study it out in the Greek meta means to change and the word noeo means your mind and your thoughts. In other words change what you think. If you will get your thinking right then you will start walking right.
Adam lost his identity, when he was in the garden and partook of the tree. He was created in the image and likeness of God and he lost that. Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost. It’s talking about our identity. Jesus came to get back our identity that Adam lost and according to what we read earlier in Romans 5:19 Jesus succeeded. By One Man’s obedience Jesus made us right with God again. Everyone of us that have been born again have been made right with God again. The problems lies in that the soulish man, the mind the will and the emotions have not been renewed to this fact. When your mind, your will and your emotions know this like God knows this and like he intends for us to know it, I promise you it will revolutionize your whole life.
