1 Corinthians 2:7-10, The Apostle Paul writes, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. But as it is written eyes have not seen nor ears have heard, nor has it entered the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.”
It was God’s plan to be crucified. God wanted to get back in where Satan had driven Him out. He hid this plan, because had the rulers of the world known it, they never would have crucified Jesus. The bible tells us that prophets and kings desired to see the things that we see, but they couldn’t see it. We can see things and know things that Moses, Elijah and Isaiah didn’t know. That is awesome!
In 2 Corinthians 2:7 Paul was quoting what Isaiah 64:4 said, but he changed it. He said eye have not seen, nor ear have heard, nor has entered the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love him. If you read Isaiah it doesn’t say the things prepared for those who love him, it says for those that wait for Him. If you look up the word wait there, it doesn’t mean just sitting around waiting. It’s talking about those that await, he’s talking about those off in the distant future. God has prepared these things for those off in the future, meaning the church today.
1 Corinthians 2:10 says, but God has revealed them to us by the Spirit of God. It is not hidden any longer, God has revealed some stuff to us and it says there, it’s by the Spirit. It’s something that is going to come by the power of the Holy Spirit. We have to get to a place in our lives where we learn how to listen to the voice of God, we learn how to walk in the power and the anointing of the Holy Ghost and hear what the Spirit of God is saying and not just hear what man is saying. Let the Holy Ghost teach you and let Him confirm it in the word of God. When the Holy Ghost tells me something, I make Him back it up. I want Him to show me in the word and He doesn’t have a problem with that. Because I promise you, you can get just one scripture and get all mixed up. The church world has been doing it for years.
1 Peter 1:10 (NASB) As to this salvation the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries vs 11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. Look back at 2 Corinthians 2:7,” We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory.” God had a plan, his plan was that Christ was going to die on the cross, He’s called the Lord of Glory, and through that He’s going to lift us up into that glory. We’ve been lifted up to live in that glory not just on Sundays, but on a daily basis and everywhere we go. That’s where we are to live.
