At that time we had a small business. One day while at work, God spoke to me and said, “Larry, go read Luke 12:33;” I immediately stopped what I was doing, got my Bible and began to read the following:
“Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.”
I said out loud, “Lord are you talking to me, or was this for your disciples?” My eyes quickly dropped to the forty first verse, which reads, “Peter said to him, Lord do you speak this parable only to us (Disciples) or to all people?”
And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, who his master will make ruler over his household, to give them (His sheep) their portion of food in due season?”
I then went back to work and pondered those sayings. As I am doing so, my wife, Jean, stops by wanting to talk. The first words out of her mouth were, “I think God wants us to sell everything we’ve got.”
Tears streamed down my face. We sold everything we had and within a year we began to feed God’s sheep; Teaching them about the New Covenant, using Faith to access the Grace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
In 1999, we built Jubilee Christian Center, and unless God says otherwise, here we will remain teaching Faith, Grace and the New Covenant of God until Lord Jesus returns!
Pastors Larry and Jean Beam would like to thank you for visiting Jubilee Christian Center Van Buren online.
