Colossians 1:12 says, “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to be to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.” Notice the word has is past tense. God has qualified you. God has qualified you for the inheritance. He qualified you through the blood of Jesus and not through your performance. Your performance doesn’t qualify you for the blessings of God. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute sin. Christ is the end of the law and where there is no law sin is not imputed. Therefore through the blood of Jesus, God Almighty qualified you and made you a partaker of the inheritance. If God says you are qualified, then you are qualified.
Many Christian think the blood of Jesus has no more power than the blood of the bulls and the goats in the Old Testament. In the mind of most Christians it has less power because the blood of the bulls and the goats in the Old Testament would qualify you for one year, but most Christians think the blood of Jesus doesn’t qualify them till the next service. God has recreated us and He likes what He created. We are now the sons and daughters of God. We are perfect in God’s eyes.
Years ago I did a sermon on this and I drew a stick man on the chalk board. I said that is a man then I said, how many of you think you can improve upon that man? Everyone thought they could. I told them, none of you can improve my drawing because it is my drawing and I drew it exactly the way I wanted it. God recreated you just like He wants you and you can’t improve upon it and nobody else can improve upon it. God qualified you, you didn’t qualify yourself and you never will qualify yourself.
If you will study the life of Jesus the only people he got on to was the preachers (the Pharisees and the Sadducees were preachers). How many of you have heard the sermon, that He is coming back after a glorious church without spot or wrinkle and as soon as we get you without spot or wrinkle He is coming back? Folks, if the blood of Jesus doesn’t get you without spot or wrinkle, nothing will! You are already without spot or wrinkle in God’s eyes.
Ephesians 1:3 says, “He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.” How many of you went to school and learned English in school? That was my worst subject. I hated English class, but I did learn a couple of things, when the Bible says He has blessed us, I know has is past tense. If He has blessed me then I am blessed. I’m not trying to get blessed He has already done it. I am blessed from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. He said there, He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. God Almighty has no more blessings to give us, He has given us all of them. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.
Do you see why I say I am just one blessed individual? You can’t get me unblessed. You can’t do it. Well, I’ll just ruin your day and I will just go around talking bad about you everywhere I go. I could put your name on a list with a bunch of others. This type of preaching stirs up a hornets nest. It stirs it up among Christians, because many Christians just don’t understand this. We are talking when Jesus hung on that cross He said it is finished. Folks, it is already a done deal. When you see that it stops being about you and it starts being about Him.
