The last plague in Exodus 12:12-14, I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night and will strike all of the first born in the land both man and beast and against all of the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment for I am the Jehovah. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the house where you are and when I see the blood I will pass over you and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt. So this day shall be to you a memorial and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations you shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.
He said, where I see the blood applied I am going to passover (judgment is going to passover). When the blood is applied the blessings are automatic. Christians think, they are still being judged by God. When God sees the blood, judgment is revoked and blessings are imparted.
He said, they are going to celebrate this with a feast forever, from generation to generation. Look over in Matthew 26:17, now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus and said to Him, where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover? Do you remember what it was called? God said, I am going to passover you. It became known as The Passover.
In Matthew 26:26-28 as they were eating Jesus took bread, blessed, and broke it and gave it to the disciples and said take and eat this is my body, then He took the cup and gave thanks, and gave it to them and said drink from it all of you for this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sin.
Hebrews 8:6, tells us that this covenant is a better covenant sworn on better promises. It is a covenant beyond what the Israelites had. When they came out the Bible says, there was not one person feeble in the entire congregation. It happened because, they applied the blood. If the blood of a goat could work such miracles, how much more shall the blood of the Son of the the Everlasting God cleanse you and heal you of every sickness and every sin known to the world.
By faith we apply that blood (Romans 3:5). Everything in that covenant became ours and the blessings of God were invoked on us and by faith we appropriate them. You see, it wasn’t enough for them to just slay that animal, they had to apply the blood. By faith we apply that blood to our life. They applied one time to the door post and to the sides of their house. In other words they applied it publicly.
They had to apply the blood openly, but they had to stay under the blood. If they had got back into the world, they wouldn’t have been covered by the blood. It’s not that the blood doesn’t qualify you, it’s not that the blood doesn’t protect you and provide for you. However, when you get out of the blood and get into the world, you open yourself up to Satan.
The blessings are there, but you stop the flow if you get too much into the world. I have to be careful, because if I’m not it will produce condemnation from what I am telling you. I don’t want to produce condemnation in your life. Try to understand this, the Bible says, that sin no longer has dominion over you, because you are under grace. If it’s got power over you, then you are not living under that grace. When you come under that grace message and you live in that thing, then sin loses its power.
