Paul said, he preached Christ and Him crucified. That’s all I know to preach. I’m not trying to say anything bad about people who preach other things. But many sermons are about what you have gone through in your life or what you went through this week. What’s in me is Christ crucified, raised from the dead, seated at the right hand of the Father and me being born again, a new creation raised with Him and seated with Him in newness of life. Be careful what you listen to. Listen to the stuff that imparts the revelations and mysteries of God into your life. The Bible tells us whatever we are full of is going to come out of our mouths sooner or later. That’s also why Jesus told us to take heed what we hear, because it will measured back to you again.
I don’t want to preach about other things, because you are not what you went through this week, you are not what your Mother and Dad put you through, you are not what the school teachers put you through, you are not what your mind put you through, and you are not what you have been through, you are what He has been through. That’s who you are! Once you come into the family of God you get a new identity, so why are you going back and thinking about that old junk? That’s not who you are that old man died.
I don’t talk about that old man anymore, that old man is gone. I seek the mysteries of God. I’m full of the revelations and mysteries of God and that’s what comes out. Sooner or later in life you are going to get pressed up against the wall. What is going to come out? When you are full of this stuff, it is going to come out. You have to get full of it.
Let’s look at Luke 10:21, “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.” Jesus said, God has hidden stuff from wise people and revealed it to babes. He reveals stuff to the humble, because the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. God is not going to release the power to people who will abuse the power. It’s hidden and only those who are humble before God will He reveal it to. Do you know what humility is in the Bible? It is exalting others above yourself and that is hard to do.
I’m trying to encourage you and build you up in Christ. I want you to understand the importance of seeking revelation knowledge and not just a feel good sermon. There is nothing wrong with feeling good or having a good time. There is nothing wrong with having picnics at church, potlucks at church, dancing at church, and having friends at church. But if those things are above getting the revelation of the word of God, you have your priorities upside down. Sooner or later you are going be faced with a situation and you are not going to know what in the world to do.
There are all kinds of things that go on in life. The question is when the storms come are you going to still be standing? Jesus said, if you build your life upon His revelations when the storms come and the winds blow, that house is built upon a rock and it is still going to be standing. You have to get revelation knowledge down in your heart, not just in your head. You have to understand who you are in Christ and get into this stuff and devour it.
