Let’s look at Luke 15:22 “The father said to his servant bring out the best robe and put it on him and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.” You see God is about restoration. The first thing he says, put the best robe on him, put sandals on him and put a ring on him. Now servants didn’t have shoes, sons had shoes. But the son comes and he wants to be a servant and the fathers says, no I am not having none of that you are going to come in like a full blown son. He calls one of his servants out of the house and said, put a pair of sandals on his feet so everybody will know he is my son. You see when you are going to sit on the throne, you have to have a robe. You can’t sit on the throne without a robe and he says put a ring on his finger. He gave him back his authority, he gave him back his position, and he clothed him in a robe.
You are the righteousness of God in Christ and you are sons and daughters of God. When you came to yourself and turned to God, child of God the Father came running to you. He loved you and he hugged you and He kissed you. He didn’t want to hear about your weakness, your sins, and all your failures, because in His mind they are all gone. He put a robe of righteousness on you, he put sandals on you, he gave you authority and he said now go and do business in my name until I come back. You are seated in heaven with Him. That’s who you are, that’s what He has made you.
Acts 20:32 says, “So now, brethren I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” The word of grace will build you up and the word of grace will give you an inheritance. If you are hearing messages about sin & unworthiness, it will not build you up, and it will not give you your inheritance. The only thing that will, is when you hear about the goodness of God, the love of God, the mercy of God, the grace of God, and that God Almighty the Father of the universe, loves you just like you are. He loves you with all your sins, with all your weaknesses and with all your misery. He loves you!
Have you ever heard this phrase? Jesus said, he who is the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of all. Think about it now, who is the greatest in the kingdom? Jesus is the greatest in the kingdom, so if you serve you become greater. So if you serve Him then you become greater than Him. He serves us and we serve one another. If you want to be great serve others. We are sons positionally, but we become servants willingly. I am a son of God, but I humble myself and serve others.
Jesus was a son, but he humbled himself and became a servant. We are sons and daughter’s of God that is our position. He has clothed us in a robe of righteousness, he put his ring on us for authority, and he said now do my business until I return. You have authority as sons and daughters of God to go out into the world to minister and release the anointing of God, the kingdom of God, and the power of God into people’s lives. We are sons and daughters of God. But we have to see ourselves as sons and daughters, otherwise we won’t have anything to serve with.
